Lifelong Learning at Miami University is proud to collaborate with the Department of Spanish, and Universidad de Oviedo to offer an innovative language and culture immersion program in northern Spain. This genuine intercultural experience, developed by Dr. Jose Dominguez-Burdalo, will engage students in an educational opportunity in which they will build cultural self-awareness and knowledge of worldview frameworks, in addition to language skills.
Students can expect to reflect on enriching and extending their educational experience in the midst of the valleys and mountains of Asturias and Oviedo. 
Students will interact with the Spanish people and traditions, and will build intercultural competencies in this guided educational journey. The students who have chosen to participate in this journey are undertaking a purposeful learning immersion encounter in which they will satisfy their curiosity, even as they develop more questions about the world and their place in it. It is an authentic engagement with lifelong learning, and one that will lead to an enriched life and meeting personal, academic, and professional goals.
